Hello my name is Tracey, I am the eldest of three siblings. Married with three children and two grandchildren. I am a sole trader and a Director of a couple of businesses. Jack of most trades master of a few. I like to ride motor bikes and horses and drive fast cars, and I love to shop, make jam, grow fruit and veg and do lunch. I have many many hobbies ranging from shooting to knitting and love to cook. I know I am loud and opinionated about many things but I also think I’m a good listener and a loyal friend. But I do not suffer fools gladly. Honesty, love and kindness is what you get from me, with a little foolishness thrown in.
Hello, my name is Cathy Regan. I am married with two (nearly!) grown up daughters,
I have always lived and worked as a hairdresser in this area. However at 50 I decided to stop working and fill my time with some different things. Hairdressing is a very social job and therefore I knew I would like to meet some new people, which led me to joining the Tilly Widgets.
I am a fairly creative person, so particularly enjoy crafting activities, especially anything new.
My other hobbies include gardening and running.
I was welcomed from the moment I came and have so enjoyed being a member of the Tilly’s that this year I felt it was time to join the committee in a supportive role.
I was told recently that it is part of WI constitution that every meeting should be educational, I have certainly learnt a wide variety of things over the last 18 months!
Vice President, Website & Social Media
I thought that joining the WI would be a good way to meet like-minded women and and maybe have a bit of a laugh. It’s certainly helped to increase my social circle, much more widely than I expected. I’ve met people with common interests, learnt new skills from chocolate making to burlesque, crochet, street dance, ferret racing and many more. I’ve been involved in local events and am now the Vice President.
Hi I am Christine Garland, responsible for refreshments. I organise volunteers to make the essential tea/coffee and cakes we have at every meeting. We have a rota of volunteers who can bake or buy cakes to share with others. When my husband Peter went away to work in Wales I felt a little alone and jumped at the opportunity to join this new forming WI. I am a teacher by day , I can knit and sew however enjoy the company of others. Come along and join us, make new friends, share experiences and take pleasure in listening to speakers, learning new crafts in the company of other ladies with similar interests.
